Shocked Wales coach Mike Ruddock promised to redouble his efforts after the 41-3 hammering by New Zealand. "We expected a struggle to get our game together after so little preparation, but didn't expect that," said Ruddock.
"There's always trepidation playing New Zealand. They're the best team in the world and if you don't get it right they will burn you.
"We put a lot of work in but it wasn't good enough. I take responsibility and will go back and look at it again."
Ruddock, whose side's eight-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end, could find few consolations in defeat.

"We were beaten in every area, the set piece, the tackle, the turnover - and we fell off our own tackles," he told BBC Sport Wales. "I take full responsibility for the line-out, it is very easy when no-one is alongside you in training but when you get a very well organised line-out against you the pressure creates other problems.
"The Lions tried their best against New Zealand and they had more preparation time than us, but it's my responsibility as coach to pick the boys up from here and get them competitive.
"This team has gone through dark times before - like a 10-match unbeaten run - and we picked ourselves up to win a Grand Slam from there."
