Ulster hooker Rory Best is hoping for a first Ireland cap |
Ulster hooker Rory Best has been called into the Ireland squad for the first time as a replacement for the injured Frankie Sheahan. Coach Eddie O'Sullivan is due to reveal his 22-man panel on Tuesday for the 12 November match against New Zealand.
As Shane Byrne is the only other hooker in the squad, Best is likely to be on the bench for the Kiwis clash.
But with games against Romania and Australia to follow, he will be hoping to get an Ireland cap.
Munster winger Anthony Horgan has been named in the vacant position in the backs.
