There may be false dawns and forlorn
hopes in some quarters but this could be the most competitive and intriguing championship for years.
There are five or six games that are almost impossible to call.
Ireland are in very good shape and as long as complacency does not supplant confidence this could be our year.

We don't like to be favourites but if we truly want to compete with the big boys we'll have to get used to the idea now and then. However, France could skin everyone if they're in the mood.
England should have a gargantuan front five and plenty of pace out back.
If the Welsh pack can secure ball for their exciting playmakers they should score plenty of fine tries.
I hope and expect to see some great rugby from Scotland and Italy but title aspirations are unfortunately unrealistic.
