Robinson believes his players can learn from Rhinos' training |
England coach Andy Robinson described his squad's historic training session with Leeds Rhinos as "awesome". The rugby union world champions are casting aside a century of rivalry to spend three days training with the Super League champions.
Robinson views the sessions as key to England's development, insisting: "This is no gimmick.
"We're practising rugby, whether it's rugby league or union, interchanging ideas in a change of environment."
England have suffered a disappointing 12 months, losing six out of 11 games, but Robinson hopes a fresh approach to training will improve his team's fortunes.
He said: "Yesterday was an awesome experience and I think the players got a lot out of it.

"History doesn't matter to me. We are rugby people working together and this is all about forging a relationship."
Leeds coach Tony Smith, who led the opening session, insisted that the Super League side could also benefit from the experience.
"It's not just about learning, it's about the freshness it brings," Smith said. "The players are bouncing because they are going to work with elite athletes."
England captain Jason Robinson, who carved out a career in rugby league with Wigan and Great Britain before switching codes four years ago, missed the first session through illness, but said: "Anything new adds a spark.
"We are looking for ways to improve, and if we can pick things up from them, then it will be well worthwhile."
