George to captain England women
Paula George
Inside centre Paula George will captain England for the first Test against Canada at Richmond on Sunday.

The Wasps player, who led England throughout 2001 and 2002, last captained the side in the 2002 World Cup final.

"I am honoured to be captaining England once again. I thoroughly enjoyed the role when I last did it," said George.

Head coach Geoff Richards will wait for Canada to reveal their team before announcing his own starting line-up.

But he did confirm that Maggie Alphonsi will definitely not play.
