Wales coach Mike Ruddock refused to be too despondent despite watching his side conceded six tries in a 50-44 defeat to Argentina in Tucuman. "We lost our way just after half-time. Our discipline went poorly and we let them seize the initiative," he said.
"We played a lot of rugby after that and showed we can play.
"It's a very exciting team and one with a lot of potential. But we need to go through the video and look at the mistakes and the missed tackles.
"We're down but we're certainly not out."
Ruddock said he was particularly disappointed with Wales' defence and discipline.

But he feels confident the players will respond with an improved all-round performance in next Saturday's second and final Test in Buenos Aires. He added: "I thought our scrummage was excellent. That was a real bonus for me.
"Our lineout overall was excellent - we only lost one towards the end where we had a new combination.
"Once you've got that right you can build your game. We did that in certain periods - in the first 20 and last 20 minutes of the match.
"The middle bit we have to look at because it wasn't good enough. So there's a lot of work to be done."
