Montgomery is in line to face Ireland and Wales in June |
Dragons back Percy Montgomery and Leicester fly-half Jaco van der Westhuyzen have been recalled by South Africa coach Jake White. Montgomery is now set to face Ireland on 12 and 19 June and then adopted homeland Wales on 26 June, despite breaking a bone in his hand on Friday.
"He has fractured a small bone in his hand, but that sort of injury can heal within two weeks," White said.
"This means he should be available, but we have a contingency plan."
White revealed that Gaffie du Toit was on standby should Montgomery not recover in time, as the Stormers player can also slot in at either fly-half or full-back.
Montgomery damaged his hand in the 56-39 loss in Leinster that ended the Dragons' Celtic League title hope.
White added that no positions have been finalised for the 22-member squad to play Ireland in Bloemfontein on 12 June.
