Pumas eye World Cup games
Argentina has begun talks to try to secure Buenos Aires as one of the venues for the 2011 World Cup if it is staged by South Africa.

Argentine Rugby Union president Emilio Perasso said former Pumas captain Hugo Porta, an ex-ambassador to Pretoria, is negotiating with the South Africans.

South Africa held the third World Cup in 1995 and is vying with Japan to host the 2011 tournament.

But staging matches both there and in Argentina would be logistically tough.

Argentina has staged the under-18 World Championship in 1997 and the World Sevens Championship in Mar del Plata in 2001.

It will he holding under-21 World Cup in June 2005.
