Robert Sidoli has been struggling with a pelvic problem |
Robert Sidoli is likely to miss Wales' summer tour to Argentina and South Africa because of injury. The Warriors lock needs an injection and rest to cure the ongoing pelvic problem that restricted Sidoli's involvement in the RBS Six Nations.
Regional team-mate Gareth Cooper is also doubtful because of the shoulder injury suffered by the scrum-half during the Six Nations.
The joint is still causing discomfort and the problem may require surgery.
Sidoli has yet to be ruled out officially by the Wales team medical staff, but the Warriors believe the 24-year-old will need a prolonged period of rest once he finishes the Celtic League season.
Warriors coach Lyn Howells told BBC Sport: "If he carries on playing he could break down and not play rugby again. "If he has the injection now and then two to three months rest, it means he can recover fully.
"I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make a full recovery. Rob doesn't want to rest because he wants to go on the tour and impress (new coach) Mike Ruddock.
"But he knows he has to have the rest so he definitely won't be going on the tour to Argentina."
Wales play back-to-back Tests against the Pumas in Buenos Aires on 12 and 19 June, before travelling to face the Springboks in Pretoria on 26 June.
