Scotland make three changes
Andrew Henderson in action for Scotland
Scotland have made three changes for Sunday's match against France as they aim for their first Six Nations points.

Edinburgh full-back Derrick Lee starts his first international in two-and-a-half years, replacing Ben Hinshelwood.

Andrew Henderson comes in for Brendan Laney at centre and Cameron Mather is fit to return at flanker at the expense of Allister Hogg.

Coach Matt Williams has resisted calls for further change and skipper Chris Paterson remains at stand-off.

Henderson, 24, played on the wing in Scotland's opening defeat to Wales but was relegated to the bench for the games against England and Italy.

But following a disappointing campaign from Laney, Henderson returns to win his 18th cap.

Williams stressed the changes in personnel are not a result of 'pointing the finger' at individuals for the embarrassing 20-14 defeat in Italy a fortnight ago.

Chris (Paterson) is one of our world class players and we shouldn't limit his use for the team
Matt Williams
"Derrick has earned his spot. He's been in great form for his pro-team and he's been with us in the squad pretty much right through the championship.

"Andy Henderson has also earned his opportunity through performance, while I'm delighted that Cammie Mather is fit again after his ankle injury sustained against England."

After losing their first three games it was suggested that the Scotland coach might move his captain to full-back and bring in Dan Parks to play at stand-off.

Williams, however, keeps Paterson at number 10 and is adamant too much is being made about his captain's supposed dilemma.

"We wanted more thrust from the back line and in the game against Italy we weren't getting the pace and angles from the back three that we required and we did consider moving Chris back to full-back.

"We wanted to take the pressure off selecting Chris at number 10. If we want to pick him at 10 we can and we will but if we want to pick him at 15 if we feel that's the best for the side then we will do that.

"It shouldn't be the issue that it is. Chris is one of our world class players and we shouldn't limit his use for the team.

"He's still developing in the number 10 role and we are committed to that but we have to decide if it is best for the team if we move him."
