Springboks call up Habana
Bryan Habana
Habana excelled at the Under-21 World Championship
Uncapped centre Bryan Habana has been added to South Africa's Tri-Nations squad for their Test matches against New Zealand and Australia.

The 21-year-old said: "This was the last thing I expected. I'm shell-shocked. I had set a goals to make the team in the next year or so.

"But (Springbok coach) Jake White has shown confidence in me and I have to make sure I repay his faith."

Lock Victor Matfield is absent again, despite the Boks' line-out problems.

The Springboks play the All Blacks in Johannesburg on 14 August and Australia in Durban a week later.


South Africa squad:

Backs: De Wet Barry, Bolla Conradie, Jean de Villiers, Fourie du Preez, Gaffie du Toit, Bryan Habana, Marius Joubert, Wayne Julies, Percy Montgomery, Breyton Paulse, Brent Russell, Jaco van der Westhuyzen.
