Did you know? Price played in 12 consecutive Lions Tests
Few remember that Graham Price was once a wing with his local club, Abersychan, before becoming one of the greatest tight-head props of his, or any other, generation.

But it was such latent speed that helped him on his way to perhaps the greatest ever try scored by a member of the front-row union.

It has been repeated on TV more times than Dad's Army and spawned the immortal rugby commentary: "They'll never believe it in Pontypool'.

Price was part of the notorious front row that also contained Bobby Windsor and Charlie Faulkner.

Renown for their uncompromising hardness, the 'Viet Gwent' caused havoc on the field through their awesome scrummaging power and an unstoppable rolling maul.

A local lad, Price worked alongside his team-mate Faulkner in the steel works, fitting in 12 hour shifts alongside playing for club, country and the Lions.
