Boks to face Irish
South Africa number eight Juan Smith
Number eight Juan Smith will be a key player in the new regime
South Africa's new coach will launch his regime with a two-Test series against Ireland in June.

And Rudi Straeuli's successor, due to be appointed later this month, will also pit his wits against Wales prior to this year's Tri-Nations tournament.

The Springboks' 10-Test programme in 2004 will conclude with a European tour in November featuring Tests against Ireland, England and Scotland.

The Twickenham visit will be the first since the Boks' 50-point loss in 2002.

12 June: Ireland in Bloemfontein
19 June: Ireland, Cape Town
26 June: Wales, Pretoria
24 July: New Zealand, Christchurch (Tri Nations)
31 July: Australia, Perth (TN)
14 Aug: New Zealand, Johannesburg (TN)
21 Aug: Australia, Durban (TN)
13 Nov: Ireland, Dublin
20 Nov: England, London
27 Nov: Scotland, Edinburgh
