Clockwatch: Ireland 35-12 Wales
All the action from Lansdowne Road as an inexperienced Wales side are outclassed by Ireland in a World Cup warm-up.

Full time: Ireland 35-12 Wales

80+2 mins: Late flourish from Wales but the visitors are too anxious and lose the ball, allowing Murphy to punt the ball downfield.

80 mins: O'Connell, who claimed the first try, adds a second to cap a fine performance, after Ireland opt to go for a lineout take-and-drive. Murphy takes over the kicking duties to add two more points.

77 mins: More Ireland changes, with Guy Easterby taking over scrum-half from Peter Stringer, while Gordon D'Arcy takes over on the wing from Howe.

76 mins: Murphy scythes through the Welsh defence and only a last-ditch tackle from Harris brings him down just short of the line.

74 mins: The game has become slightly ragged, with both sets of players throwing the ball about with abandon.

68 mins: More substitutions, with Ireland introducing Shane Byrne for Wood and Donnacha O'Callaghan for O'Kelly. Wales swap Vernon Cooper for Owen and Huw Bennett for Davies.

67 mins: Nick Robinson turns provider with a finely-judged chip of his own, allowing Garan Evans to gather and score. Harris makes the conversion.
Ireland 28-12 Wales

64 mins:Another piece of Harris brilliance for Wales sees the former rugby league star jink around a handful of Irish defenders. The centre kicks ahead and Nick Robinson is only just denied.

60 mins: Hooker Mefin Davies leads the Wales pack forward, forcing Ireland to dig deep in defence. Humphries has injured his shin and is replaced by Girvan Dempsey. Dempsey moves to full-back, with Murphy taking the No 10 role. Ireland also make a prop change, with Justin Fitzpatrick on for Simon Best.

55 mins: Wales are struggling to get enough possession but their backs look dangerous when they have the ball, wing Garan Evans only just being caught as he threatens to race away.

52 mins: Kevin Maggs surges through a gap and pops the ball to Reggie Corrigan, only for the prop to spill the ball forward in the tackle with the Welsh line begging.

50 mins: Harris makes another break and Popham charges down the wing, but the Leeds No 8 misses Rhys Oakley outside him with the pass and the ball goes into touch. Gethin Jenkins replaces Ben Evans at prop for Wales.

45 mins: Wales lose the ball and Humphries launches a swift counter-attack. Geordan Murphy cuts back inside and has suppport lining up for the try, with lock Malcolm O'Kelly producing a cheeky dummy to lope over. Humphries keeps his 100% conversion record.
Ireland 28-5 Wales

43 mins: Harris is back on the field from the sin bin and immediately makes amends with a break that sends Wales deep into the Irish half.

41 mins: Ireland start the second half with David Wallace on the field in place of Foley in the back row. Wallace makes an immediate impact by grabbing the restart and being on hand to crash over the line when the ball is recycled. Humphries has another easy conversion.
Ireland 21-5 Wales

Half-time: Ireland 14-5 Wales

40+1 mins: Keith Gleeson charges for the Welsh line but is just brought down. He hangs on to concede the penalty and Wales take it quickly to launch their own foray up the wing. Fine way to finish the first half.

40 mins: Sweeney produces a wonderful side-step to break through the Irish backs but fumbles the ball forward as he is crunched from behind.

36 mins: Wales are reduced to 14 men for the next 10 minutes after Harris is sent to the sin-bin, perhaps slightly harshly, for a high tackle on Anthony Horgan.

30 mins: Kevin Maggs sets up the ball close to the Welsh line, and late replacement Alan Quinlan is driven over under the posts - but picks up a head wound in the process. Humphries adds the extras.
Ireland 14-5 Wales

28 mins: Ireland drive a maul over the Welsh try line but the defenders get under the ball and referee Joel Dume rules it has been held up.

26 mins: Brian O'Driscoll dances through the first line of the Welsh defence, but Sweeney is waiting for him and does a passable Jonny Wilkinson impression with a huge tackle on the Ireland centre.

23 mins: Ireland camp in Wales' 22 but some very committed Welsh tackling keeps their hosts at bay. Alix Popham takes a blow to the head but the Wales No 8 is soon up on his feet.

20 mins: Some great work on the ground by flanker Richard Parks snaffles the ball for Wales and Sweeney relieves the pressure with a good kick upfield.

18 mins: Tyrone Howe wastes a gilt-edged opportunity after fielding Nick Robinson's loose clearance. The Ireland wing opts to try to go outside of Thomas but is dumped into touch.

14 mins: Humphries darts down the blind side from a scrum and Jamie Robinson just hauls him down. However, Wales concede a penalty, Ireland opt for the lineout and shove Wood over the line - only for a double movement to deny the skipper a try.

8 mins: Sweeney pops a pin-point kick into touch next to the Ireland corner flag. Wales steal the lineout, spin the ball wide and full-back Nick Robinson comes into the line to give skipper Gareth Thomas the scoring pass in the far corner. Iestyn Harris misses the difficult conversion
Ireland 7-5 Wales

5 mins: Lock Paul O'Connell, standing out in the backs, crashes over for the game's first try as Wales run out of numbers in defence. Humphries converts.
Ireland 7-0 Wales

3 mins: Keith Wood gets his hands on the ball for the first time to a roar from the crowd and charges headlong into the Welsh pack.

2 mins: Wales have an early chance from a lineout in the Irish 22, but a spilled pass stops a promising backs move.

1 min: Ceri Sweeney kicks off for Wales, Ireland gather safely and opposing No 10 David Humphreys clears to touch.

Kick-off 1445 BST: Keith Wood returns to an Ireland shirt for the first time since last September, and leads his side against a youthful Wales XV.

Back row Victor Costello is a late injury withdrawal, with Alan Quinlan - not named in the original 22 - coming into the starting side as an emergency replacement.
