O'Driscoll: We can beat England
Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll
O'Driscoll said that Wales made life very difficult for Ireland
Ireland may have got out of jail against Wales, but Brian O'Driscoll has warned England to be on their guard when they travel to Lansdowne Road next week.

The Ireland captain was still breathless after their nerve-tingling and dramatic one-point victory at the Millennium Stadium.

But he promises that it will be a different Ireland next Sunday.

''I think we have every chance against England now,'' he said.

''There's not a better chance to win the Grand Slam. We beat them two years ago and we are going into the game with some confidence.

''I think they are probably the best team in the world. In that case you have to be at your best to have a chance to win. But watch this space."

He added: ''It's just great to have the opportunity to be able to play England for that Grand Slam.

''We didn't play particularly well, especially in the final 15 minutes, and our set-pieces fell apart a bit.

''We also didn't play as much territory as we should have.

''But all credit to Wales, who continually drilled the ball in behind us and made life very difficult for us."

It looked as though Wales could have had a penalty right at the end of a pulsating game, but the referee eventually allowed the advantage,

And a relieved O'Driscoll was naturally happy his side had avoided presenting Wales with a chance to steal victory

''We spoke to the referee on Friday and he said that he will play advantage until you ask for a penalty," said O'Driscoll.

''But Wales played on and then the referee ruled that advantage was over. It's a debatable topic, but we will take it now.

''I was anxious when Stephen Jones lined up for another dropped goal, but Denis Hickie epitomised the enthusiasm at the death by the team when he charged the kick down.''
