It has been a weekend of bad news and it is gradually getting worse.
After the defeat against Scotland there is now the situation with Swansea going into administration.
I don't really understand what it means legally. Swansea have given up the ghost and are quite prepared to realise that we are going to go into a provincial set-up next year.
The club have basically moved to manage their finances the best they can.
Obviously myself and the rest of the team have got to see how that will affect us.
I think that we have just got see whether it is a storm that needs to be ridden or if things really are going to change.
Hard times on all fronts for Colin Charvis |
Pay cuts and job losses have been mentioned, we are all just waiting to see how things are going to pan out. Pay cuts
Obviously nobody is going to be happy with taking a pay cut and it is a very difficult time for a lot of the players.
We have got our own little union set up and representatives will be speaking to both the club and the Welsh Rugby Union.
As it stands, no decision has been made by any of the players and no one has taken a pay cut. We have all got to check out the legal stand point of things.
I feel that we have just got to put up or shut up. We have just got to carry on playing and do well in every game. |
I feel that we have just got to put up or shut up. We have just got to carry on playing and do well in every game.
We have a game on the weekend, and whether the guys will stay at Swansea or go elsewhere, there is no better place than to be in the shop window and playing well.
Another defeat for Wales
As I say, the past few days have not been the best.
All of the guys in the Wales camp are really down after the Scotland game.
After the debacle in Italy, we raised our game against England.
The players were dejected after the Scotland defeat |
Unfortunately our performance against the Scots was just not good enough.
Indeed, it looks a bit ominous with Ireland looming. They could be looking for a Grand Slam and then we have got France, so it's a very difficult situation for us.
However there is some light at the end of the tunnel and it is not all doom and gloom.
We have got to work hard in training, focus, channel all of our energy in the right direction and hopefully raise our game for the Ireland match.
Obviously my goal is to be part of the team for that game, so I have just got to get on with things and work hard.
The management have shown faith in my ability by keeping me in the squad, hopefully they will find a position for me.
