Morgan had surgery on his left knee last year |
Wales full-back Kevin Morgan will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee in the RBS Six Nations defeat to Scotland. The 26-year-old has torn ligaments in his left knee and is doubtful for the World Cup this autumn.
Morgan only returned to the Wales side a fortnight ago against England after recovering from surgery on his left knee.
Said coach Steve Hansen: "His knee's blown up like a balloon. He's out for the Six Nations, the summer tour and possibly the World Cup.
"It's a shame for the kid."
Morgan was carried off the Murrayfield pitch on a stretcher around the hour mark.
His knee seemed to twist after his studs caught in the turf as he chased his own kick forward.
With the benefit of hindsight we should have kicked the goals Wales captain Martyn Williams |
Wales were well on top at that stage of the game, but failed to make the most of their territorial advantage. They were awarded countless penalties in kickable position in final ten minutes, but new captain Martyn Williams opted for kicks into touch instead of the easy three points.
Williams, who was Wales' third captain in as many games, defended his decision making.
He said: "We had a lot of momentum and there was not too long to go.
"We needed two tries so we thought it would be better to kick for the corner and try to sneak a try.
"It didn't come off and maybe with the benefit of hindsight we should have kicked the goals but I don't think it would have made too much difference."
Wales face Ireland at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in two weeks time.
