Flanker Jones stays with Scarlets
Dafydd Jones
Jones was part of Wales' Six Nations team before injury
Welsh international Dafydd Jones is poised to stay with Llanelli Scarlets after agreeing a three-year extension to his contract at Stradey Park.

The 25-year-old first played for the club in 1997 and joined them on a permanent basis in 1999/2000.

"It's been a tough season but I know the team is capable of much more and I want to be part of that," Jones said.

Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher said: "He is a key player and we are delighted he's decided to stay."

Earlier this week Scarlets also won the signature of Wales No 8 Alix Popham, who will arrive at Stradey Park for next season from Leeds Tykes.
