Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan has predicted a bright future for his young side after they edged out London Irish to win the European Challenge Cup. Ryan says the Cherry and Whites can challenge for more silverware if they strengthen their squad in the summer.
"This side wouldn't be able to cope with the power of the top sides, but we'll be stronger for the recruitment and the experience," said Ryan.
"These players will be together for a long time and play in more big games."
Gloucester have given several young players their Premiership head this season, with fly-half Ryan Lamb, 20, attracting plaudits for his exciting displays along with centre Anthony Allen and prop Jack Forster.
But Ryan said the real test for his young players will come next season.
"It's my responsibility to keep Ryan Lamb's feet on the ground," said Ryan.
"We know how talented he is because he has been with us for about 18 months now - the bigger the occasion, the bigger game Ryan seems to play.
"But the Premiership is a very harsh environment and the second season will be difficult. If he keeps working and keeps listening, Ryan can be a very good player."
