Leeds fly-half Adrian Jarvis inspired his side to a shock Premiership victory over London Irish.
Exiles held a 16-10 advantage at half-time, Ryan Lamb converting Seilala Mapusua's try after he and Chris Malone had both added penalties.
But Jarvis led Leeds' fight back, converting Luther Burrell's first-half score as well as Daniel Browne and Mike MacDonald's touchdowns after the break.
He then landed a penalty to give Leeds only their second win of the season.
A win would have moved Irish back into the top four but they instead remain sixth having played two games more than rivals Northampton and Bath.
Exiles controlled the opening quarter and went ahead when a forceful run from flanker Jamie Gibson laid the foundations for Malone to slot the opening penalty.
The Australian fly-half was then forced off the field through injury but his replacement Lamb made an immediate impact and doubled their lead after a scrum infringement.
Leeds had earlier suffered injury woe of their own after seeing captain Marco Wentzel depart with a calf problem and they wasted a chance to open their account as Henry Fa'afili failed to find a support runner after a Jarvis grubber.
Lamb added Irish's third penalty of the game and the hosts were forced to wait until the 25 minute mark to be awarded one of their own, which Jarvis placed over.
The visitors' only try of the game came when wing Topsy Ojo found space and had the simple task of putting Mapusua over by the posts, with Lamb adding the extras.
But Leeds responded and Burrell crossed over from their first threatening attack to keep them in the game at the break.
It was Leeds who were enjoying the best play after the restart but their failure to convert points was punished as Lamb slotted a drop-goal to once again open up a nine-point lead.
Lamb could have finished the game had he held an intercept chance, and Leeds made the most of that let-off as Scott Mathie quickly took a penalty in the Irish 22 and Jarvis sent Browne on a blistering run to the line, before adding the extras to make it 19-17.
Irish looked rattled and Leeds took advantage of their new-found confidence as replacement prop MacDonald barged over to put them in front.
Jarvis again added the extras and his late penalty denied Irish a losing bonus point.
Leeds Carnegie head coach Neil Back told BBC Radio Leeds: "There was one direction we could go after our performance last week.
"The players were obviously bitterly disappointed, too many errors, we went away from the game-plan and got dished up.
"This week was a long week, went through the review process which was brutal and honest, and the players wanted to come today and show the pride they have in the Leeds Carnegie shirt, what playing for Leeds Carnegie means to each other, and I think you saw that today.
"The composure to turn things around in the second half, they kept to the task, they kept belief and they kept working hard. If we are unsuccessful at the end of the day, it won't be through lack of effort."
London Irish head coach Toby Booth: "I am angry for once. I am furious. To be in a position of such control in a contest and relinquish it, I think is criminal.
"When we were on the plan we looked very good. But there are certain elements where things get away from you.
"Their try before half-time was a key moment and we didn't re-establish control well enough after the break.
"We had opportunities to regain control and didn't take them and you could see the momentum shift and all of a sudden penalties aren't going your way and it becomes difficult to stop that.
"I spoke about desperation this week. Leeds are in a desperate situation and desperate people can do desperate things. And they showed that today."
