Warriors ease through first match

Worcester Warriors

Worcester Warriors won their opening pre-season match following relegation from the Premiership as they beat Stourbridge Saxons 55-0 at Sixways.

Warriors scored nine tries, four in the first half from Alex Crockett, Tom Arscott, Rob Higgitt and Pat Sanderson.

Jake Abbott touched down twice after the break, as did skipper Sanderson again, Adam Balding and Kai Horstman.

New director of rugby Richard Hill now has two weeks left before the Warriors start the new Championship season.

Worcester are due to open up with a local derby against Birmingham Solihull at Sixways on 28 August (1500 BST).
