Phil Bennett, Mike Hall discuss England's chances (Scrum V)
Wales legend Phil Bennett says England lack a clear strategy and has written off their Grand Slam chances.
England have beaten Wales and Italy in their Six Nations matches so far, but it has not saved them from criticism.
After England's 17-12 win in Rome, Bennett told Scrum V: "They are not a great side and they lack confidence.
"They don't seem to know what plan to play. I don't think they will be Grand Sam champions - I think Ireland will go to Twickenham and probably beat them."
Former Wales captain Mike Hall, meanwhile, branded England as "boring" and accused the England coaching staff of failing to get the best out of their players.
Although Wales were beaten 30-17 at Twickenham in their Six Nations opener, Hall insisted they were the only team trying to play expansive rugby.
He said: "Against Wales, Jonny Wilkinson passed the ball five times and Matthew Tait had it in his hands twice, maybe three times. At least Wales were throwing the ball around.
"It is so boring watching England play. I feel sorry for the players because I think they have some wonderful talent behind the scrum - Ricky Flutey, Tait, Ugo Monye - but they are not getting the opportunities and there is no freedom in their game.
"It is very frustrating to watch England and they are not going to beat France and Ireland playing that style of rugby. "
Following their 17-12 win in Italy on Sunday, England manager Martin Johnson admitted his side were not at their best and expressed disappointment at their failure to take chances to put the game out of the home side's reach.
"I am happy to win but the guys knew they could have done better," said Johnson.
England next face Ireland at home on 27 February, while Wales play host to title favourites France the previous evening.
