Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney was delighted with his side's impressive 50-5 bonus-point demolition away against Sedgley Park on Wednesday.

The Green and Whites had lost three games in a row but bounced back in style, running in eight tries.

Charlie Hayter and Phil Eggleshaw both scored two tries each as Nottingham eased past the Lancashire side.

"It was important we put in a confident display and eight tries is a case of job done," Delaney said.

Nic Rouse, Jo Duffey, Tim Usasz and Charlie Davies also went over with David Jackson slotting five conversions for a win that keeps Nottingham in the hunt for fourth spot in National One.

We will be back out on the training park on Friday to make sure we have everything nailed on for the visit of London Welsh

Delaney added: "We now face London Welsh on Sunday with some momentum behind us.

"It is ok to have games in hand on the teams above but you still have to secure the points and we got what we deserved on Wednesday night.

"We are looking forward to Sunday now; the players will rest on Thursday but we will be back out on the training park on Friday to make sure we have everything nailed on for the visit of London Welsh.

"I think the majority of the crowd at Sedgley were Nottingham fans and we were delighted to see so many familiar faces up there."

Third-placed Bedford Blues and fourth-placed Doncaster Knights meet this weekend at Bedford's Goldington Road ground.
