Leeds (13) 13 Tries: Tuilagi Pens: Di Bernardo (2) Cons: Brooks
Bristol (6) 30 Try: Perry (2), Higgitt, El Abd Pens: Barnes (2) Cons: Barnes (2)
Leeds saw their hopes of a rare win dashed as Bristol came from behind to win at Headingley. Samoa centre Andy Tuilagi darted through in the first minute to help put the home side 13-6 up at the interval. But three tries in quick succession in the second half undid Leeds after wing John Holtby was sinbinned. Bristol were not finished and claimed a bonus point when skipper Joe El Abd waltzed over the line late on to further expose Leeds' weaknesses. Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington on the club's future: "Irrespective of whichever division we are in next season, it will not alter the plans and the strategy at all. "That is to retain our better quality players and add at least six new players. "This season has proved to be very, very frustrating because whilst the resources have been there - and still are - the players haven't been." Birstol coach Richard Hill on scrum-half Shaun Perry: "For him to come back after a nasty throat injury - it was a bizarre fracture of the windpipe - and play like that showed what he can do. "He bullocked his way over for two tries and I was very pleased with the second-half performance from the boys."
