Wilkinson says Cipriani has the right attitude for international rugby |
Jonny Wilkinson says he is looking forward to taking on Danny Cipriani for the England fly-half jersey. Wasps star Cipriani has set his sights on the number 10 position and Wilkinson, 28, is impressed with the 20-year-old's confidence.
"I don't see it as a sign of arrogance. He has set his goals where he wants them," said Newcastle's Wilkinson.
"Danny wants to achieve all he can in his career. I would have thought it is the answer you would get from anyone."
Cipriani earned a place in England coach Brian Ashton's Six Nations squad with a series of impressive performances for Wasps this season.
And he has already signalled his desire to become the first-choice one fly-half.

Wilkinson, who has won 65 England caps, believes Cipriani's confidence will prove to be an asset in international rugby.
"If you asked any player whether they wanted to play number two to someone in their career I wouldn't have thought many would have said 'that sounds like pretty good fun'," he added.
"You have to have that attitude that you don't want to come off second best.
"It's great he has that edge now and it is clear that he is a guy getting ready for international rugby."
