The RFU will invest the money in English rugby's future |
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has announced revenues of over 100m for the first time. The figure of 103.7m for the last financial year was up 25% on 2006, while operating profits rocketed by 73% to 28.1m.
The RFU said it would continue to invest the profits in growing the game in England.
Chief executive Francis Baron said the results have given the RFU a "very solid foundation".
The RFU's coffers will receive a further boost thanks to England's unexpected progress to the final of the World Cup in France last month.
