Harlequins started the new Premiership season with a bonus point win, scoring four tries against London Irish.
Tries from Olly Kohn and Jordan Turner-Hall helped Quins into a 15-6 lead at the break.
Tom Williams went over for their third try and although David Paice hit back, Hal Luscombe extended Quins' lead.
The Exiles hit back through Steffon Armitage and Richard Thorpe but a third penalty from Chris Malone, who kicked 15 points, made the game safe.
Harlequins coach Dean Richards: "We totally dominated the first half, the second was give and take and we deserved to win.
"There's a quiet confidence in the camp and if we lose games it's generally because we shoot ourselves in the foot rather than other sides beating us."
London Irish boss Brian Smith: "We were a bit of a soft touch in the first half, they outmuscled us and I was definitely disappointed with the performance.
"I'm not singling people out but there were probably four good try-scoring chances. If we'd taken them we'd have stolen a win we probably didn't merit."
