Catt has made the five-man shortlist for the second year running |
London Irish and England back Mike Catt leads the nominations for the Professional Rugby Players' Association (PRA) player of the year award. The 35-year-old makes the shortlist for the second season running.
He is joined by Bristol loose forwards Dan Ward-Smith and Roy Winters, Leicester winger Alesana Tuilagi and Saracens fly-half Glen Jackson.
David Strettle, Shane Geraghty, Tom Rees, Anthony Allen and Toby Flood are up for the young player of the year.
The PRA's awards dinner will be held at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on Wednesday, 2 May.
Last year's player of the year was Sale flanker and Scotland captain Jason White, whose season has been wrecked by a knee injury.
The young player award was won by Tuilagi's fellow Leicester winger Tom Varndell.
