Saracens fly-half Glen Jackson grabbed 18 points to keep his side on course for the Premiership play-offs.

The league's top-scorer this season kicked 13 points and scored a try to move Sarries up to third in the table after their 10th straight home victory.

Quins led 12-10 at the interval after Kris Chesney's try was cancelled out by scores from Mel Deane and Tom Williams.

But Thomas Castaignede crossed on the resumption and late tries from Dan Scarborough and Jackson sealed victory.

England stalwart Richard Hill created the first Sarries try by bursting through a couple of tackles, Chesney crossing in the corner in between two Jackson penalties.

But Quins rallied when Andrew Mehrtens and Simon Keogh combined for Deane to crash over.

The visitors lost England flyer David Strettle with an ankle injury but stunned their hosts on half-time when Mehrtens kicked ahead and replacement Williams won the chase to score.

But Saracens quickly reasserted their dominance at the start of the second half and Neil de Kock delivered a defence-splitting pass for French full-back Castaignede to race over under the posts.

Two late tries secured both the victory and a precious bonus point, ensuring Sarries will qualify for the play-offs if they beat relegation-threatened Worcester at Sixways on 28 April.

Firstly Jackson and Andy Farrell exchanged passes to free Dan Scarborough to touch down in the corner.

And with time running out Jackson was on hand to finish off a flowing move, before Mike Brown grabbed a consolation score for Quins.

  • Saracens director of rugby Alan Gaffney on his team's fianl Premiership game of the season aagainst Worcester next week.

"The main thing is we're in control of our own destiny - we don't have to rely on anybody else. That's a fantastic position to be in.

"We're not even thinking about the play-offs yet.

"Worcester are playing for their lives and that game will be a really tough ask for us."

  • Harlequins coach Dean Richards:

"Our set piece didn't perform at the start and we were down before we knew what was going on.

"We had to put a lot of effort in to get back in the game and their three tries in the second half came as a result of our tiredness.

"Saracens played extremely well and there's no doubt they're a good side. They're worthy of a play-off place."
