Saracens compounded Bristol's recent poor run with a thumping home win at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
Sarries led 26-0 at the break courtesy of tries from Kameli Ratuvou (2) and Thomas Castaignede, while prop Kevin Yates added a third after the interval.
Glen Jackson kicked 16 points as Bristol could only muster a second-half consolation try from Neil Clark.
The former league leaders have now lost four straight matches and stay third, level on points with Sarries and Wasps.
Bristol, who were vastly under strength after a rash of injuries, were outgunned in the loose and struggled to generate any momentum away from the set-piece areas.
Saracens, by contrast, were at full-strength bar the absence of injured centre Andy Farrell, with Castaignede fit to make his first start at full-back since New Year's Day
Bristol coach Richard Hill:
" It was always going to be a tough period for us and I've been trying out a few people.
"I thought we'd get through it the best we could and now we've got our next four games in Bristol - two at the Memorial Ground and two at Ashton Gate.
"Next week we'll be able to bring back Mark Regan, Dave Hilton, Gareth Llewellyn, Roy Winters, Shaun Perry and David Lemi - and they're all players who are nice and fresh.
"If we pick up two wins and a couple of bonus points we'll stay in the top four and be fresh for the play-offs, not out on our feet.
"We're trying to keep a bit in the tank and follow the Wasps example over recent years, whereas last season London Irish gave it everything to get into the play-offs and didn't have much left against Leicester in the semi-final."
Saracens assistant coach Richard Graham on the form of Kameli Ratuvou:
" Quality finishers in the Premiership are very rare and he's certainly one of them. "He's only been playing as a professional for the last five months and has come a long way in that time with us.
"He's a lot more confident and consistent, gets involved in the game and now has the belief that he belongs here."
