Reigning Premiership champions Sale Sharks slipped to their fifth defeat in a row as bottom side Worcester eased to a comfortable victory on Friday.
But the Warriors were unable to get the bonus point which would have moved them off the foot of the table.
Shane Drahm and Tevita Taumoepeau both scored tries for the visitors.
Daniel Larrechea managed three penalties and a drop goal on his return from suspension but Sale were unable to get over the Worcester tryline.
Sale head coach Philippe Saint-Andre
"We need our players to fight for their lives.
"We need to stick together and realise, at the moment, that we are not a good team.
"You can see the team is low on confidence because, from the start, we were missing tackles and letting Worcester get on top."
Worcester coach John Brain
"We caused them problems with the ball and I thought we defended in exceptional fashion.
"They had lots of pressure in the final 20 minutes but, technically, our defence was something to be proud of.
"If we keep picking up points, it puts pressure on Newcastle, who are just above ourselves and Northampton."
