Bristol overcame the first-half loss of skipper Matt Salter to defeat Harlequins and return to the top of the Premiership.
Shaun Perry went over after seven minutes to give Bristol an early lead with Alex Clarke soon adding a second.
Bristol were awarded a penalty try which was converted by Josh Taumalolo just before the break.
Winger David Lemi then starred with two tries to earn Bristol their third try-scoring bonus point of the season.
Quins kept battling away with a try from first-half replacement Andre Vos converted by Adrian Jarvis cutting the lead.
The visitors lost skipper Nick Easter to the sin-bin in the final minutes of the game but replacement Tani Fuga crossed for his side's third try but the conversion from Jarvis drifted well wide.
Bristol director of rugby Richard Hill: "We played well for most of the game and looked well organised and in
control. We are looking better and better at the moment.
"I'd have been grateful to come away with a straight win as it would have meant that we'd come through the test.
"But to get a bonus point from our five tries - I'm very pleased."
Harlequins director of rugby Dean Richards: "We didn't do ourselves any favours as we didn't turn up and we had one man in the bin and they scored two tries and Bristol didn't look back.
"They were more dominant than we were in the scrum area.
"Our lineout didn't function and if we don't get phase one right we don't deserve anything against one of the Premiership's most experienced packs."
