Australian winger Joe Roff is set to play for Oxford University in the 2006 Varsity Match against Cambridge after winning a place at the university.

Roff, 30, who won 86 caps and was a World Cup-winner in 1999, will study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Harris Manchester College.

"We are thrilled Joe is coming to study at Oxford," said Oxford rugby administrator Tim Stevens.

"His experience and talent speaks for itself. Everyone is excited about it."
