Charvis could be looking for a new club for next season |
Newcastle Falcons have refused to comment on speculation that negotiations have broken down with Colin Charvis over a new contract. Former Wales captain Charvis, who joined Newcastle two years ago, is out of contract at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old has been a regular this season, but was left out of the squad for Saturday's match with Worcester.
BBC Wales Sport understands an announcement on Charvis' future will be made by the end of this week.
Charvis has failed to secure a contract with any of the Welsh regions ever since they were formed three years ago.
The 84-times capped international spent most of the 2003-04 season playing for French Second Division Tarbes before Newcastle offered him a route back into top-class club rugby.
