Newcastle's England U21 scrum-half Lee Dickson has pledged his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal. The 20-year-old is recovering from a knee injury suffered in November and should be training again in the summer.
"The wave of players coming through is as good as, if not better, than any we've had before," said Falcons director of rugby Rob Andrew.
"Lee's a fundamental part of that. To have him at the club for another two seasons is a major boost."
Dickson, who previously turned out for the Scotland U19 team before opting to play for England, said he was eager to get back to fitness and advance his career.
"I'm looking forward to the next two seasons at the club, and to pushing for a place in the first team along with James Grindal and Hall Charlton," he said.
