Premiership champions Wasps suffered their biggest defeat of the season as Worcester scored four tries at Sixways.

Tries from Aisea Havili, Phil Murphy and Thinus Delport, plus a penalty try, meant the hosts also got a bonus point.

Wasps, still to win away this year, had 10 players missing on international duty and could only muster a Tom Rees try and a Jeremy Staunton penalty.

Shane Drahm landed three penalties and four conversions as Worcester got back on track after three successive losses.

  • Worcester boss John Brain:
"This is one of the most important games in my time at the club - I told that to the players before the game.

"I think, if we had lost tonight, we would have been in a real scrap at the bottom. As it is now, we are nicely on course to attempt to finish in the top half of this league.

"I know Wasps had players missing because of the internationals but, for me, they still fielded a quality back-line."

  • Wasps boss Ian McGeechan:
"It was by far the worst display of the season. We gave away a lot of soft points and it was a poor performance without any redeeming features.

"I don't think we were mentally there tonight and you simply cannot afford to be off your game by three or four percent because every opposition in the Premiership is pretty strong.

"The main target for us is the play-offs but we're disappointed with ourselves tonight because we've played poorly."
