Noon was banned for six months, starting in January |
Northampton have signed tight-head prop Colin Noon for next season. Noon, 29, currently on a six-month suspension, will begin training with the squad in the summer but will not be able to play until 26 September.
Noon, who toured with Scotland on their 2004 summer trip to Australia, was on loan to Rotherham from Leicester when he was banned for stamping.
"Colin Noon is an experienced tight head prop with great scrummaging skills," said coach Budge Pountney.
"He has had a wee rest during the last six months, so I am sure he will be looking forward to playing some rugby at Franklin's Gardens. I am delighted he will be joining the club next season."
Bridgend-born Noon, who also played for Welsh clubs Aberavon and Bridgend, was suspended for intentionally stamping on the head of Pertemps Bees prop Matt Long on 30 October.
Noon appealed against his conviction at a hearing in November but a three-man disciplinary panel rejected his petition and the ban began on 18 January.
