Harris extends Saracens contract
Dan Harris
Harris was almost forced to retire with a shoulder injury
Saracens centre Dan Harris will remain with the club until 2007 after signing a new contract.

The 28-year-old, who joined from Sale last summer, made 23 appearances for Sarries this season after recovering from a serious shoulder injury.

Saracens head coach Steve Diamond said: "Dan has battled back well from his operation after being told he would have to retire.

"We're delighted. He's played a major role in the team this season."

Harris said: "I couldn't be happier with how things have gone this season and now signing with Saracens for a further two years.

"Even in my wildest dreams I didn't imagine that I would have played so many games this season.

"Now I have to start looking to up the performance levels next season.

"This season was really all about getting through the games and part of my recovery, but next year I want to be able to put my own stamp on things."
