Scotland and Lions hooker Gordon Bulloch has signed up to Zurich Premiership team Leeds Tykes.

Bulloch, 30, has agreed a two-year contract to end his Glasgow attachment which began in the amateur era.

Bulloch, who has been capped 75 times, said: "I have had 10 years with Glasgow in one guise or another and, like all good things, it has come to an end.

"I'm very much looking forward to the Lions tour and then all the excitement that joining Leeds will bring."

Bulloch, who captained his country throughout the Six Nations, is one of just three Scots in the Lions squad that is touring New Zealand this summer.

"It was important to get my future sorted out quickly so I can concentrate fully on New Zealand and getting into the Lions side," Bulloch told BBC Sport.

"It's a new challenge for me and Leeds are a club with a lot of ambition.

"I talked to a few other clubs but I was really impressed by what I saw at Leeds.

"The facilities are second to none and that makes a welcome change because training facilities really haven't moved on in Scotland since the amateur days."

Leeds director of rugby Phil Davies added: "Gordon is a world-class player who has performed at the highest level.

"Gordon is still in his prime as a front rower and we are excited about him joining our current group of players and adding his experience to the blend that we already have.

"Gordon is a player I have admired for a number of seasons and it is great that he is looking forward to joining us after the Lions tour.

"We have a tough year ahead of us next season, with a highly competitive Guinness Premiership campaign alongside our entry into the Heineken Cup and the capture of a player of the calibre of Gordon is a massive boost to those aims."
