Falcons build for better future
Rob Andrew
Andrew got a boost from Jonny Wilkinson signing a new deal
Newcastle have signed three players in a bid to improve from mid-table in next season's Zurich Premiership.

Second row Andy Perry arrives from Plymouth, while Anthony Elliott signs from Rotherham - both for two years.

And centre James Hoyle joins Rob Andrew's Falcons from Sale Sharks on a one-year contract.

"We've been light in the forwards, but with the likes of Andy, Tino Paoletti and Owen Finegan we've added some serious bulk," said Andrew.

"I honestly believe this is the best group of youngsters we've had through the club," he added.

"And that is saying something when you consider the crop we had five years ago.

"What we have to do is balance and support that with the more experienced guys, and we are gradually doing that."
