Leicester secured a spot in the Premiership final with a resounding victory over nearest rivals Wasps. In a fitting Welford Road farewell for Martin Johnson and Neil Back, Tigers scored five tries and Andy Goode put in a 20-point performance.
Harry Ellis started the rout in the 23rd minute with a spurt of pace from just past the half-way line, and Back scored his 125th try for his club.
Wasps' only try came in the dying minutes, courtesy of winger Tom Voyce.
Goode converted four of the five tries, landed three out of four penalties and also kicked a drop goal on the stroke of half-time.
Johnson and Back got a standing ovation afterwards and former England skipper Johnson said: "I'm totally overwhelmed by today."
"It has been a brilliant 16 years here and I couldn't have wished for anything more.
"I would like to thank the players I've played with over the years and you supporters as well," he told the crowd.
Head coach John Wells said: "If you could write scripts you would have written that one."
The celebrations turned sour, though, for flanker Henry Tuilagi, who suffered a suspected broken leg when Voyce hauled him down short of the try line.
Wasps director of rugby Warren Gatland described the loss as "a bad day at the office".
Wasps, champions for the last two years via the semi-final play-off route, will now have to go that way again to clinch a hat-trick of titles.
"We can't take anything away from their performance," Gatland added.
"We have Sale at home in the semi-final and we have the chance to redeem ourselves. There are certainly things to work on."
