Bath coach John Connolly lamented "one of our worst performances of the season" as his side slipped to a shock Powergen Cup final defeat to Leeds. But the Australian tried to remain positive, insisting "there is still plenty to play for" in this campaign.
"Qualifying for Europe is the first aim and then we are looking for a finish in the top three," he said.
"We have two big games to come. There is always next week and we have a lot more to play for."
Bath captain Steve Borthwick failed to make the starting side after failing to recover from a shoulder injury in time.
But Connolly refused to blame his side's recent run of injuries for their Cup defeat. "We have had a lot of injuries but that's not the reason for losing,"
he added. "That would be disrespectful to Leeds.
"They've had their injuries as well and they had to overcome losing Iain
Balshaw early on and reorganise. I thought they fought very hard.
"But it was a huge disappointment for our players because it was
there for them to win."
