Dawson was recalled to the England squad in January |
England and Lions scrum-half Matt Dawson has signed a new two-year deal with Wasps. The 32-year-old, who has 65 England caps, joined the club from Northampton in the summer on a one-year deal.
"The experience I've had at Wasps since moving here last summer has proved to me that coming here was the right move.
"I've seen a huge improvement in my understanding of the game and therefore to sign a new two-year deal is nothing but a positive step," Dawson said.
He also admitted this is likely to be the "last contract that I sign".
The new deal will enable the World Cup winner to team up with former Northampton boss Ian McGeechan, who will replace Warren Gatland at Wasps next season.
"Geech was very influential in the middle of my career, at a time when many promising scrum halves can falter in their development," said Dawson.
"As a coach he helped me identify areas to develop, including some of the basics that can get neglected."
