Skipper Steve Borthwick has been named in Bath's side for Saturday's Powergen Cup final against Leeds after recovering from a shoulder injury. He will partner England colleague Danny Grewcock in the second row.
Full-back Matt Perry returns after injury, and Frikkie Welsh starts his first game on the wing this year.
Welsh prop Christian Loader suffered whiplash in a car crash and has not recovered to take his place on the replacements bench.
Fellow prop David Barnes has a calf injury so David Flatman is named amongst the substitutes.
Flanker Geraint Lewis and hooker Jonathan Humphreys were also involved in the accident, but were unhurt.
England centre Mike Tindall will be on the sidelines again this weekend, and Connolly conceded that the chances were running out for him to prove his fitness and be part of the Lions tour to New Zealand.
"He was jogging on Tuesday, but he is unavailable for selection this week and next week, which just leaves the Leeds game in the Premiership on 30 April," Connolly said.
"When he puts his hand up and says he is available, we will try and cross that bridge then. It is going to be difficult for him, but he is a determined character."
