Glen Jackson and Richard Haughton combined for all 27 of Saracens' points to give them a well-deserved win over a Jonny Wilkinson-less Newcastle. Haughton ran in two first-half tries - the first a stunning display of pace to leave the Falcons defence reeling.
Jackson produced another excellent kicking display, slotting over 12 points before scoring the second-half try that effectively nailed the win.
Newcastle managed three tries through James Hoyle, Matt Burke and Joe Shaw.
But they failed to consistently trouble Saracens, who dominated the match through their pack and the impressive combination of Kyran Bracken and Jackson at half-back.
Shaw's 76th-minute try probably flattered the visitors a little, a score replacement kicker Toby Flood failed to convert.
As a result, they missed out on a much-needed bonus point.
Newcastle director of rugby Rob Andrew on Jonny Wilkinson's groin injury "We'll be investigating Jonny's groin problem next week and we won't know much more until then," said Andrew.
"Overall, I thought we performed admirably. They didn't boss us in the forwards and we scored three tries."
