Faure lost his cool with Marshall |
Sale prop Lionel Faure has received a six-week ban after he was sent off for punching Justin Marshall against Leeds last weekend. Faure, who had already been suspended by Sharks coach Philippe Saint-Andre, had the punishment imposed by a RFU disciplinary panel in London.
"Retaliation or violence of any kind is simply not acceptable in my team," said Saint-Andre.
The 27-year-old will be available to play again on 18 December.
His ban will rule him out of three Premiership games, a Powergen Cup trip to Llanelli and the Sharks' next Heineken Cup game against Castres.
Meanwhile, Clermont Auvergne lock David Barrier has been suspended for 10 weeks after being found guilty of stamping against the Ospreys in the Heineken Cup.
