Shane Drahm held his nerve to convert Tony Windo's last-gasp try as Worcester sealed a nail-biting win at Sixways.

In a see-saw contest, Saracens were in charge just after the break with Dan Scarbrough, Richard Haughton and Thomas Castaignede all crossing.

But Worcester hit back to make the score 18-17 with two Drahm penalties and a try from Drew Hickey.

Scarbrough seemed to have sealed the win with his second try only for Windo and Drahm to add the final twist.

The win continues Worcester's unbeaten start to the season, but it was not all bad news for Sarries as they leave the West Country with two bonus points.

Although it was a pulsating affair, the game was also bad tempered.

Saracens scrum-half Alan Dickens and Worcester hooker Andre Van Niekerk were sin-binned for their part in a mass brawl sparked by Saracens lock Kris Chesney, who was yellow carded for a dangerous lunge on Nicolas Le Roux.

  • Worcester coach Anthony Eddy:
"I have got to compliment our forwards, they were outstanding and for us now, it is a matter of developing combinations.

"We have got a big job next weekend when we go to Wasps, and we are not patting ourselves too much on the back at the moment.

"We are delighted but we know we can play a lot better than that."

  • Saracens rugby director Steve Diamond:
"It was a good hard game of rugby, but we didn't have the wherewithal to close the game out.

"We didn't really have an answer to their driving maul and Worcester's game plan was pretty good."
