Smith extends stay at Northampton
Tom Smith
Smith is a mainstay of the pack for Scotland and Northampton
Tom Smith has signed a new two-year deal with Northampton which will keep him at the club until 2007.

Saints acting head coach Budge Pountney believes re-signing the Scotland prop is vital for the club's future.

"Tom is of the highest pedigree. We are extremely pleased that he has decided to stay at Northampton," said Pountney.

"He has a pivotal role in the development of this team and we believe that with his experience, we can move onwards to better things."
