Zurich Premiership leaders Leicester were given a fright by bottom club Harlequins on Saturday. Quins took a 17-9 lead after tries from Jon Dawson and Ugo Monye but four penalties from Andy Goode kept the hosts in the hunt.
Austin Healey went over as Leicester took the lead at the break and Goode nudged them further ahead with two more penalties in the second half.
Henry Tuilagi scored a second try for Leicester in injury time.
Leicester coach John Wells admitted that his side was pushed all the way by Harlequins.
"It wasn't pretty and if we can play like we did at times and still get a result, then we've done well," said the Leicester boss.
"Quins made a battle of it and didn't let us have anything cheaply.
"They scrapped for every bit of ball and we dogged out a result. It wasn't pretty but we just about deserved it."
Harlequins boss Mark Evans was a frustrated man as he felt his side played better than the scoreline reflected.
"I thought 19-17 was not a fair reflection of where we were at half-time," said Evans.
"I thought we played well today but have come away with nothing.
"We controlled territory in the first half, which is what you must do, but we still lost 32-17, which looks like a hiding. But it wasn't like that."
