Doherty commits future to union
Dual-code Leeds youngster David Doherty has decided his future lies in rugby union rather than league.

The 18-year-old has been playing for both Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Tykes but has now signed a three-year contract with the Tykes.

"This has been the toughest decision of my rugby career," said Doherty, who is aiming for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

"I have the ultimate respect for both codes at Headingley but I see my future in rugby union."
